Description
We are ideally situated for Steam Railway enthusiasts (with fantastic photo opportunities from the apartment and garden), and is an excellent area for walkers, with the West Somerset Coast Path along the cliff tops to the west of Minehead, passing Selworthy Beacon, from which Dunkery Beacon (the highest point in Somerset) can be seen. Exmoor National Park and the Quantock Hills, designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, provide a wealth of interesting countryside to explore.
The local shops, café and pubs are within easy walking distance. Minehead, with its more traditional seaside attractions is only a short train-ride away or 10 minutes in the car. Visit 2 impressive National Trust properties, the Norman castle in the medieval village of Dunster and the picturesque village of Selworthy.
Applegarth, the ground floor apartment at Merlin House, has been carefully converted into a spacious and comfortable self contained holiday apartment, with superb sea and countryside views. The owners live on the premises and are on hand to help with any of your requirements during your stay. |

Minehead is a popular coastal town in Somerset, England. It is not far from Timberscombe, Dunster, Luccombe, Porlock, Porlock, and Old Cleeve and is one of over 130 towns and villages in Somerset in which Go2 has cottages or holidays lets available. The nearest designated cities are Exeter (population 106,772), Wells (population 10,406), and Bristol (which has a population of 420,556 according to the 2001 Census).
As well as a sandy beach and scenic harbour area overlooked by cliffs, Minehead has a number of attractions including the popular Butlins holiday camp (which is open to day visitors as well as residents) and the West Somerset Railway which runs steam trains between Minehead and Bishops Lydeard, just north of Taunton.
